POLAR_SURFACE interpolates your data onto a regular rectangular grid
with resolution fixed by the keyword "SPACING". If you specify the spacing
to give you higher resolution than your data contains, POLAR_SURFACE will
interpolate your data onto the new higher-resolution grid, perhaps giving
the appearance of higher resolution in your data. The solution is to set
SPACING to be no higher than the resolution you want.

I hope that was what you were asking!
