[Q] IDL Widget? [message #6443] Mon, 10 June 1996 00:00

Hello.

I would like to be able to include an IDL graphics output
window as part of a X/Motif application that I am writing.
We already have a framework developed (C++) for most of
the GUI pieces required but I need an image output window
as an integral part of the display. I would like to use
IDL to do this for me. The IDL 4.0 Advanced Development
Guide states that "The IDL X Windows (sic) graphics driver
can draw in windows it did not create as long as the
window is compatible with the IDL display connection".

Does anyone have any examples of this? What I would
really like to do, I believe, is just specify the
parent widget for the IDL display area. Having IDL
in charge of the GC should be fine also.

Can anyone help?

TIA
