Hi, folks -
I'm trying to create an accurate mosaic composite image from about 45
tiles. In the simplest instance, no rotations or reprojections are
required - just sliding rectilinearly. I'd like the mosaic to be
accurate to sub-pixel accuracy, so some interpolation is likely to be
required. I've tried some simple schemes of using cross-correlations
and of subtracting the overlap regions and minimizing the rms
differences between the two images, but there must be routines out
there that do this as well as a large literature on the subject that I
have not yet been able to track down. Has anyone written an IDL
routine to do this sort of thing? My images are all single-filter
(i.e., gray-scale) floating-point 800 x 800 or 1024 x 1024 images.
Thanks for any suggestions.
