I suppose this might be a cautionary tale about the dangers
of being too anal. Beeps are probably out of your control,
except--possibly--on your own machine. Maybe it is better
to flash a dialog set off with a picture of naked woman if
you want to catch the attention of your user. Something
advertisers have been using for centuries. :-)
