I think its best you discontinueize (or something like that) your
spectral measurement in a finite number of bands (how many? maybe the
number of bands of the satellite/airborn sensors is good place to
start). Then, you should interpolate each band on it's own creating
the hyperspectral image you want. There's a lot of info in the IDL
help files about interpolating this kind of bands.
