I'm having a little problem concerning 3D-Models in idl. I am trying do draw
models of crystals (i. e. spheres placed somewhere in a 3D coordinate system
and connected by lines, which I can look at from different angles). I managed to draw lines in a 3D system using
plots, [x1, y1, z1], [x2, y2, z2], /t3d
after initializing with scale3, xrange etc.
This gave me a number of lines (not necessarily always where I wanted them to
be, but never mind), but after drawing once (running the commands as a little
program) I couldn't add any more lines to the picture.
And apart from that, I have no idea how to generate and place objects like
little spheres (to use as a symbol for ions).
Please help me a.s.a.p., as I should have handed in my work about a month
ago...
Thanks
michael.
