Yes, I have the debug view open. I don't know. Just got
itself in a strange state, apparently. It works again
after a re-start. I just didn't want to re-start yesterday
after getting a LOT of main-level variables set up
properly. This is probably fixed in IDL 7.1. ;-)

do you have the debug view open? I have had success getting non-functioning
breakpoints to work after adding the debug view to the workspace. I have not
yet encountered this issue under IDL 7.1.
