Folks,

Three kind people responded, but can't reproduce the problem. I have done a
little more investigation and can more accurately describe the symptom:
whenever I give focus to the graphics window, the _window gets erased_. This
happens both with a private colormap and shared colormap.
Is this an IDL problem, a White Pine problem or operator error?
To repeat:
My configuration:
clients: IDL 4.0.1b (SunOS and OpenVMS, same behavior)
server: White Pine eXodus 6.0, running on a Power Mac 7200
settings: Backing store support: Use When Mapped
Colors: 256
Color Matching Tolerance: (Normal, Exact, Tolerant -- all NG)
display: Monitor Control Panel set to 256 colors
Output of help /device:
Current graphics device: X
Server: X11.0, eXodusPowerPC 6.0
Display Depth, Size: 8 bits (1024, 748)
Visual Class: PseudoColor (3)
Bits Per RGB: 8
Physical Color Map Entries (Used / Total): 64/256
Colormap: Shared, 64 colors. Translation table: Enabled
Graphics pixels: Combined. Dither method: Ordered
Write Mask: 255
Graphics Function: 3 (copy)
Default Backing Store: Req from Server
Window Status:
0: Win(640, 512, Req from Server)
Thanks for any help.
