file_info not detecting write-protected files under windows (bug?) [message #67369]

Hi All,

I am having problems with the idl function file_info. It does not seem
to detect write-protected files under windows and I've had my session
crash on me.

Is anyone familiar with this problem? Is there an alternative method
or work around?

Any help would be appreciated.
