Hi,

I'm looking at buying a Sun Ultra 1 that will only
run the Solaris 2.5 operating system. I'd like
to run IDL on this machine. But IDL only runs under
Solaris 2.3. Do any of you have experience with this?
Am I out of luck or will IDl run on this operating system?

Ask our system manager (bjm@cdc.noaa.gov), we are running under Solaris
2.5

We are running IDL 4.0.1 under Sol 2.5/CDE 1.0.1. Everything seems fine,
apart from this Unix pipe problem (see my other msg). I don't think that
it is strictly an operating system bug, however.
