I have tried a bunch of different things, and I am not succeeding in
reverse-engineering the search API. Sometimes I can get results from
the whole group archive (map_set returns 1,040), sometimes not
(map_set returns 1).

Maybe they will fix this and issue a press release, maybe they will
fix it quietly, maybe they just don't care.

Michael Galloy's neat search tool is not immune to this problem. Of
course, if we can't search the group archive, maybe we will lean more
heavily on the other sites?
