Hi,

Is there a simple way in IDL to generate a plot of the US with each
state coded (by color for instance) to indicate some value associated
with that state? For example, can I read in a text file (that I
generate) that contains the population of each state and display the
population of each state by color?

I'm a complete neophyte regarding IDL's mapping capabilities!
