I recently updated XQuartz (from XQuartz 2.3.2 to 2.4.0) on my Intel
Mac (no other changes were made, just the XQuartz upgrade), and now I
can't open any sort of graphical window from inside IDL when using ssh
to remotely connect (everything works normally when I'm physically
sitting at the machine). I am still able to forward other windows
that are not related to IDL, but when ever I try to open any graphical
IDL window (e.g. simply issuing the 'window' command) I get a
'segmentation fault' error.

As I said, this seems to only be an issue with IDL and not with
anything else. I'm going to be posting this to the XQuartz forums/bug-
list as well, but I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this
problem or knows of a solution.

I'm running IDL 7.1 and attempting to ssh using both a Ubuntu 7.10
machine and Windows XP running Xming with PuTTY.
