I would like to know how IDL visuals/graphics compare to pvwave. Some
of my collegues here at the University of Delaware have used pvwave
and have been asking about comparisons with IDL. I assume that the
licence for a multi-user system isn't cheap, and we have pvwave here
now (for no cost).

Also, does IDL have the basic move and draw capabilities for drawing
and shading of polygons and how about the speed?
