Good idea, but offhand, I don't know if it's possible. I'll add a note
to the CR to take a look at that too.
Cheers,

Hi Doug,
It would be great if the standalone IDLHelp worked more like it used
to in IDL 6.4. I often find that I accidently close the Safari window,
so I have the IDLHelp application running, but no instance of Safari.
Would it be plausible to have a menu option to open a new safari
window pointing to the help webpage of the currently running help
server?

No apologies required - customers don't have direct access to our bug
tracking database. Just thought I'd mention the CR number in case
anyone wanted to add a "me too" to the bug. Sometimes this helps get a
CR bumped up in priority. In this case, the CR is already high enough.
Added your tip to the CR's notes - thanks!
Cheers,
Doug

Apologies, probably should have checked the bug log first (I assume
you can do this somewhere?). Anyway, I managed to come up with a short-
term solution: stopping the idlhelpserver explicitly with:
idlhelp -command shutdown
Hope this helps some people out until the next release of IDL.

We are aware of the bug. In fact, I drew the short straw and am
assigned to fix it. ;-) Hopefully the Eclipse code will be agreeable.
If you ever need to contact our technical support on this issue, the
bug is logged as CR 55132. The plan is to have some kind of resolution
to this by the next release of IDL.
Cheers,
Doug
