segfaults on ubuntu 9.04 [message #69045]

So maybe I didn't actually help Reimar...

I thought my installation was working properly, but now I'm having
segfaults when I try to run some widgety applications (iplot, imap,
idlexbr_assistant). But, for example, dialog_pickfile() is working
properly.

I've found a simiar description of the problem on David Fanning's
website (http://www.dfanning.com/misc_tips/segfault.html), but that
was related to idl 6.3. Could this have creeped back in?

Anyone else having this problem?

Here's my system info:
Ubuntu 9.04;
Linux mattie-laptop 2.6.28-17-generic #58-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 1
18:57:07 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

IDL Version 7.1.1 (linux x86 m32). (c) 2009, ITT Visual Information
