Folks,
I was eating dinner alone tonight. (No, my wife hasn't been
reading the IDL newsgroup. Some kind of school function.)
Anyway, I'm playing tennis later and I was thinking about
my sad lot in life. One of the tennis teams I play on was
pretty successful last year, and came within a victory, our
only loss, of going to the National tournament. As a reward
for such stellar play, a bunch of us got moved up a division
so we are now lumped in with the 25-year-old ex-college
players. What I'm sayin' is, this year is not going to be
nearly as much fun for a bunch of guys pushing 60 as last
year was. :-(
So, I'm thinking about this, and all of a sudden I'm
thinking about yesterday morning on the rush-hour drive
to Boulder. One of Coyote's wild relatives wanted to cross
the highway at that particular time of day. Why,
I have NO idea! But he did. So he just put his head down
and ran as fast as he could through five lanes of traffic.
Didn't once look to the left or right.
You've got to admire someone who can do something like that.
It takes a lot of cojones, or something.
Anyway, I thought that was something you IDL newsgroup
types would be interested in. I'm sure there is a lesson
in there somewhere about programming. ;-)
Cheers,
David
