Folks,

One of the great annoyances of my life is the inability of
Map_Grid to properly clip map grid labels if you are using
anything other than Hershey fonts.

http://www.dfanning.com/map_tips/noclip.html

Of course, no one in their right mind would use Hershey
fonts in a PostScript file, so this has greatly limited
my ability to produce decent looking plots with map
projections.

But no more. Today I got totally fed up with the situation
and fixed the damn thing!

The result is a new program, named Modified_Map_Grid,
that checks to see if the label point is inside the
map plot boundaries and doesn't add the label unless
it is. You can find the program here:

Others who work with map projections may find this program
helpful. :-)

Cheers,

David
