Folks,

What's up with ITTVIS!? Today I get a note that half a dozen
of my long standing (some at least 6 years old!) map projection
problems have been "fixed" in IDL 8.0, including the terribly
annoying problem of ephemeral map structures. I haven't
confirmed this with the latest beta version (which I just
downloaded over the weekend), but I have no reason to doubt
it.

Anyway, the half of my Coyote Library which wasn't decimated
by the new IDL graphics commands, has now been further
decimated by fixed map projection commands. Will there be
anything left by the time IDL 8.0 is released!

This may well be the biggest IDL release in a LONG time.
Imagine! Fixing things that customers need. Revolutionary! :-)

Cheers,

David
