Hi

I am reading in a lot of data from a disc, doing some processing and
writing out again.

I'm doing this using readu for binary data. It's quick, a second or
so for an array fltarr(20million, 100) for example.

alot quicker than readf

does anybody have an idea of the time it would take to read in a
similar amount of data from a relational database like mysql for
example (order of magnitude)?

thanks
