Closing a widget nicely [message #70743] Sun, 02 May 2010 09:08

I've built a fairly complex widget, with lots of parts. When I quit
(or close) the widget, I'd like it to vanish more elegantly than it
does now.

When I close it, it takes 2-3 seconds to disappear as each part
destroys itself. The user can watch the widget slowly removing its
child-widgets almost one at a time over a few seconds. As parts are
removed, the remaining bits re-shuffle to accommodate.

Are there some keywords I should know about that can prevent the
screen updating until the top widget itself is ready to be destroyed?

Thanks,
M.
