Last week at the IDL birds-of-a-feather at the
Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems (ADASS)
meeting in Charlottesville, VA, Dave Stern mentioned a
Beta version around the end of the year and a general
distribution around March.

We also got a presentation about all the good stuff
that will be in 5.0. Sounds great!
