Is this 64-bit? If so, try "a=IMSL_RANDOM(10)" in the 32bit version
(should be installed along with the 64bit version). It should work
under 32bit and give an error under 64bit (at least it does here).

My understanding is that the IMSL library is an add-on (additional
cost) to IDL http://www.ittvis.com/ProductServices/IDL/AdvancedMath.aspx
). Perhaps you running a version of IDL without the IMSL license?

Sorry, that would be helpful.

What I was wondering was if anyone else has ever run into this. I
don't understand why the module is unavailable in the platform. I know
that others have ran the code before and not had any trouble. Mostly
I was hoping someone else had run into a similar error message and
knew why it was happening and how to fix it.

Thanks,

Lauren
