btw, the gdl was not installed in IA64, but x86.

Yum installed gdl much smoothly than expected.

rpm -Uvh http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/i386/epel-relea se-5-3.noarch.rpm
yum install gsl
yum install plplot
yum install ImageMagick
yum install cmake
yum install gdl
