RSI allows you to download a fully functional demo of IDL from either
ftp.rsinc.com/pub/rsi/idl in the USA or from
ftp.germany.eu.net/shop/CreaSo/IDL in Europe.

The README files tell you how to install the demo version which only
runs for 7 minutes. By talking with a sales rep. you can get a "key"
wich will allow the software to be used for evaluation purposes for 30
days.
