I'm pretty sure I've seen this discussed before, bat a) don't remember
the answer and b) can't seem to come up with the appropriate magic
incantation for google to have it refresh my memory...

Is it possible to start IDL without seeing this "garbage" (that's not
really the word I want to use :-) on the screen/in the output

> IDL Version 7.0 (linux x86 m32). (c) 2007, ITT Visual Information
> Solutions
> Installation number: xxxxx.
> Licensed for personal use by xxxx xxxx only.
> All other use is strictly prohibited.

other than by redirecting sysout and syserr?

Thanks!
Bruce
