what spam? (this post, maybe? :o)
I now use the newsfeed LiamG mentioned a while back: news.aioe.org. I read news via thunderbird using that newsfeed and
I haven't seen any spam yet. Even the NOAA newsfeed let some of that stuff through.
Google groups are useless for reading newsgroups. I'm not trying to diss google - it's simply a fact.

Should have checked this before I posted that last note... You appear to
be using google groups which is among the WORST usenet providers out
there...
