I have software that uses PV-WAVE to display 2-D plots of data that it
is processing at various stages during that processing. The user can
elect to have the plots written to the screen and appended to a
PostScript file, or have the plots appended to the PostScript file only.
The EXACT SAME CODE is used to write the plots to the screen and the
PostScript file, with SET_PLOT being used to switch between devices 'X'
and 'PS'.
The problem: When the plots are written to both the screen and the
PostScript file, all is well. However, when the plots are written only
to the PostScript file, the fifth of the six plots generated for each
data file being processed has erroneous data for the y-axis, but the
x-axis data is OK! What's going on?!
I already have a call in to Visual Numerics. They have been able to
reproduce this problem but have yet to isolate the cause. They have
compiled my code on several platforms e.g. HP and DEC, but this problem
only surfaces on the platform I'm using which is Sun/SOLARIS 2.5 and,
furthermore, it appears intermittantly (i.e. VNI has run identical cases
and the problem occured the first time but did not occur the next)!
Any ideas? Thanks!
