A patch release, IDL 8.0.1, is now available. This is a planned
release to follow up the major changes that were introduced in IDL 8.
It contains over 100 bug fixes plus 5 new features:
• Arrow function
• MAPGRID BOX_AXES property
• Multiple IDL graphics can now be saved to a single PDF file
• New graphics and object graphics now allow for thicknesses < 1.0 (0
is a thin hairline)
• WRITE_PNG now allows the horizontal or vertical resolution to be
specified
NOTE: IDL 8.0.1 is an overlay installation. It requires that IDL 8.0
is installed first before installing IDL 8.0.1.
To download IDL 8.0.1:
1) Navigate to http://www.ittvis.com/Download/Download.aspx?product=IDL
and supply your ITTVIS website login and password.
2) Click on the link for IDL 8.0 that matches your platform.
3) Complete the checkboxes, then at the bottom of the page there are
several links to download IDL 8.0.1 along with release notes and
installation instructions.
For more information about the fixes and the new features, please
refer to the release notes for IDL 8.0.1.
