I came across a poster created by NGDC that has a topography
map in a icosahedron projection. You can cut out the projection
and make a icosahedron globe. I thought this was neat and
wanted to do that same with our global cloud data set. I plan to
pass it out to kids that visit our department or I visit at schools
Has anyone created a icosahedron projection from a data set
in a 2-D array with IDL? I came across some C programs, but
they create the wire globe. I need to create the flat projection,
so it can be cut out and turned into a globe.
If you know of any other http: or ftp: sites or books that may
help me out.....
