Yeah, my dealer is old school and didn't know anything
about that sh** when I asked about it. I'm still smoking
the old stuff. :^)
Cheers,

Ok. I will try that David. I removed IDL 7.0 because I noticed the
issue the first time with both IDL installed and the ITT people
recommended me to remove the old version. I'm so addicted to the
negative indexing and the !null entity that I can't go back to 7.1

Oh, oh. Bad decision there!
My IDL 7.1 version works perfectly (even IDL on-line help,
which was previously annoying the hell out of me because
I had to start it 3-4 times to get it to "catch", works
perfectly now) after I installed IDL 8. I use IDL 8 to
figure out what people are talking about, occasionally.
But all my real work is done in IDL 7.1. IDL 8 is very,
very strange on my Windows machine. :-(
Anyway, I'll bet you have to re-install. But I would start
by re-installing IDL 7 first. I think you will be happy
you did. ;-)
Cheers,
David
