Well, I guess the next thing to be sure of is that
we are talking about the same programs. Can you
delete your current Coyote directory and download
the latest to be sure we are both on the same page?
I am concerned because the error message indicates a
line that is in the *middle* of a command in my version
of vcolorbar.

Updated just about 30 seconds ago. :-)

Try that and we will see where we are. IDL 8 caused
a lot of problem with names and many libraries had
to adapt, so...
