Hi

I am doing batch processing with IDL/ENVI in which some temporary
files are generated. They are loaded into the memory. At the end of
each run, I delete the files that I don't need anymore from the memory
using

ENVI_FILE_MNG, ID = fid,/remove

This works absolutely fine. However, I am wondering about the naming
convertion of ENVI. The numbering of the temporary files is going up,
eventhough I have removed the files.

Is there are way, to reset this numbering, withouth resetting IDL? So
that it starts at the begining?

Cheers,
Corinne
