I wish IDL code would be sensibly highlighted in wikispaces.com web
pages,
which are an otherwise very nice tool for a programming course. They
use
GeSHI (Generic Syntax Highlighter). http://qbnz.com/highlighter/
GeSHI doesn't support IDL yet (only like 59 other languages!)
Someone would have to write a PhP thing.
It looks not-quite-easy.

Emacs has an IDLwave mode that looks good. Or perhaps
whatever syntax recognition stuff is in IDLDE could be wrangled?
It's not something I can start from scratch. Any heroes out there?
