Folks,
It was the damnest thing today. I was teaching an IDL
class using IDL 8.1 and, of course, I kept typing WSHOW,
even though I know this command is broken and has been
for awhile in IDL. But, all of a sudden it started working!
And not just on my machine, but on everyone's machine!
Hallelujah!
But, it was working in the strangest way. Every time
you would type "wshow" the next *application* window
on the display would pop forward. So Firefox would pop
forward, then IDL on-line help, etc. It was weird.
After closing all applications except for IDL, I had
the program working perfectly for all of 10-15 minutes,
when whatever miracle we were experiencing moved on
to Cleveland, or wherever it goes next.
Exciting, though, for about 20 minutes there. :-)
