Hallo dear folks,

I have worked with IDL for almost 10 years, mostly
with the purpose of doing research in solar physics
but also occasionally for fun.

It's been a good time. But my career in astrophysics
is at an end: today is my last day of work at the
Harvard-Smithsonian center for astrophysics.

I will return to Switzerland and in October I will
start a new job as a data analyst for a private company. While
I am not yet quite sure what tools I will have at my disposal for
the job, it almost certainly will not include IDL.

Therefore, as I will not have access to a working IDl license,
my contributions here will have to dwindle. On the bright side,
that will lower the chance of confusions of Paolos with Paulos :)

I want to use this opportunity to thank the people here
for their invaluable advice and occasional humor.
It certainly helped me a lot in getting my dissertation work
on the road in 2002/2003.
