Hi all,

for my work I regularly have data in the form of (x,y,z), where z
corresponds to an intensity at (x,y), which I usually bin and display
as image. I made some routines using cartesian bins, where binsize for
x,y directions are defined, and then the bins are filled by polyfill.

I was wondering if there is any set of routines doing the same but
binning the data in bins with other shapes, epsecially polar/circular
bins (not sure how to call them), eg: like the ones here:

http://radbelts.gsfc.nasa.gov/outreach/Radbelts2.html

I can try to make such a routine, but I thought if it exists maybe I
save some time.

Thanks a lot
