I had multiple versions of IDL/ENVI (6.4, 7.0, 7.1) on my laptop and
recently planned to install the latest version and decided to
uninstall 6.4 rather than have 4 versions of one program on my
computer. Since uninstalling this version (oldest on my computer) I
cannot run IDLDE (development environment). If I start the program, in
appears to be starting correctly except that it quits immediately.
If I disconnect from a license (server or HASP), I get a warning that
no license was found and will have 7 minutes only. After I click OK,
IDLDE quits. There is no error message. The program just quits.
To keep things interesting, same thing happens if I try to start ENVI
+IDL. But, if I only open ENVI runtime, ENVI works. I typically need
to move between the two sides so any suggests are welcome. I have
tried to uninstall and re-install 7.0 with no luck.
