Folks,

OK, my TICKNAME crash problem has been solved! Thanks
everyone for your help.

The problem, thank God!, was not with either the Coyote
or Catalyst directory on my path. I had one other directory
on my path, which I call CoyotePlus. It is a directory
where I put small utility programs I use, other people's
programs I use, etc.

The problem turned out to be (you might have guessed
this with IDL 8, although I didn't) a name conflict problem.
I think you are going to be surprised when you discover
the name. The name of the conflicting function is tex2idl.

I just thought you might want to know. :-)

Cheers,

David
