Folks,
I have been working with the good folks at ITTVIS
to come up with a solution to my TICKNAME keyword
crash problem. But we have come down to the grasping
at straws stage. We have tried the latest graphics
driver, older graphics drivers, turning automatic
garbage clean-up on/off, running with software
rendering on/off, running from the IDL command
line, etc. All variations have resulted in no joy.
ITTVIS has so far not been able to duplicate the
problem, although they have not yet confirmed that
they have tried this on a machine running Windows 7,
64-bit OS. The odd thing is, this problem effects
BOTH my desktop and notebook machine. So unless this
is an incredible coincidence or divine retribution
for poking occasional fun at the function graphics
system, we are out of ideas.
I realize this is asking a lot. But if someone
running this Windows 7, 64-bit OS can tell me if
this program crashes YOUR computer, it might help
us move the discussion along toward a fix. I have
offered to loan my notebook computer to ITTVIS
if they need it.
You can find a simple program that will crash my
machine here:

Thanks for your help!
Cheers,
David
