Hi,
I am quite stunned and relieved to report the following.
I ran some code which gets a directory listing and then processes
each file in the directory. I accidentally left some files with
their old UNIX names (7.2.2 format) without converting them to
a "proper 8.3" format. Well the short story is that it worked!
The files were opened with the 7.2.2 form (confirmed with a
help,/files call) and everything work perfectly. The file names
are the full 7.2.2 form and not the screwy NT xxxxx~nn.yyy garbage
I half expected to see. Now I do not have to rename those 250 files
(such a pain under windows) every time I FTP a new version over
from the UNIX box.
My questions are these:
Does this work for anyone else?
Why does this work at all?
When is V5.0 comming out :-)?
Thanks,
Z
