Folks,
Mark Piper has another interesting article on GRIB data on
his blog this morning. But, as I was looking over the code
I notice that he is assuming the first row and first column
is located in the lower-left corner of the image data
he is displaying.
Normally, if you work with map projection software at all,
you think of the first row and first column as being
located in the upper-left corner of the image data.
This is how ENVI, and GeoTiff files, and any netCDF
file I have ever worked with think.
GRIB files could easily be different--I know next
to nothing about them--and I could not discover which
convention GRIB files use in 15-20 minutes of browsing
the GRIB documentation on the Internet. Does anyone with
experience with GRIB files know which convention GRIB
files use when they include map projections?
Cheers,
David
