Unfortunately, i haven't a working installation of IDL.
I try to install IDL using idl71linux.x86.tar.gz but it doesn't work. :

For some reason, the Installer.app thinks it needs to install the PowerPC executable. You should download the Unix installer (not the native one) and use the Terminal. That worked for me.

I used 7.1 on Lion today. Installing it is probably another matter. If you
have a working installation on a different Mac already, you could just copy
to the Lion machine.
