Hello,

a few days ago a got some source-code for doing this topic...

IDL spawns a TCPIP-server

reads the socket and dump to FILE!

IDL call_external to on TCPIP-client

asks the server for the filename and give to IDL

IDL reads the FILE!

this is fine, but:

a) harddisk access is slow!

so i think of changing this plan to :

TCPIP-Server will dump the data on demand to another TCPIP-Port
(local) and the TCPIP-Client in IDL reads it and the FILE is
very fast in IDL...

will this work?

Roepcke

PS: Has anyone written such a code already?
