Coyote and Catalyst Library Updates [message #78643] Fri, 02 December 2011 16:36

Folks,

It has come to my attention that some well-used Coyote
Library routines appear to be "missing" from recent
updates to the coyoteprograms.zip file. In fact, they
are there, but have been saved in a compression format
that isn't recognized by some upzip programs.

This has happened to me before, but I didn't understand
why. I think I am beginning to understand it better now.
It appears that whenever I update my PowerArchiver program,
which is what I use to save these files, the default
compression scheme gets changed somehow to their latest
and greatest. Of course, I don't want their latest and
greatest, I want their oldest and slowest, so that it
is compatible with what people are actually using.

Anyway, now that I know what the problem is, I can
be aware of it and try to get it right when I update
these zip files.

If you have updated lately, you might want to give it
another go. If you haven't updated lately, you REALLY
want to give it another go, as many things have changed
recently.

I'll have a separate announcement shortly about exciting new
features to cgImage that are in this release. But I have
to go put my Christmas demeanor on for an early Holiday
gathering my wife is dragging me to tonight. The scowling
face can be left at home, I'm informed. :-(
