I always access the IDL help from my Web browser using a button pointing to the help directory, e.g.

file:///software/IDL/idl81/help/online_help/IDL/idl.html

I am quite happy with this but occasionally I want to access the help files from a machine without an IDL distribution. So I put the help files on a Web server and used a http:// address instead of a file:// address. Although I can access help on individual routines, the indexing and links no longer work (they display binary characters). Has anyone gotten a Web accessible version of the IDL help working? (Or perhaps Exelis doesn't want us doing this??)
