I have had similar problems trying to use PV-Wave EPS output in FrameMaker
documents. In the FrameMaker document all I see is a gray box rather than
the graphic. If I use Island Draw to convert the PV-Wave EPS file to their
EPS file, I can then see the graphic in the FrameMaker. The difference seems
to be related to the version of PostScript used by PV-Wave.

According to what You describe everything seems to be o.k. As most programs
can not interprete PS they just show the gray bounding box whereas the printer should print it all right.
On the MAC PostScriptFiles include a small low-resolution
pixelimage for screen preview, which WAVE does not create. There is a
PD-program which can create this PICT, called ps2eps-mac. That is what
other poeple told me, I did not manage to get it compiled on a hp9000s3.
But importing aand printing should work without it.
