arrow plots in IDL [message #797]

I was wondering if anyone out there has something that can improve on the IDL
library function VELOVECT. I would like to plot wind arrows on a normal 2-
dimensional grid. VELOVECT seems to plot the arrow heads too big (at the
moment the whole field is obscured by the arrow heads!)

Is there a code change I can make to VELOVECT, or does someone have an
alternative that might be better.
