I don't normally use the IDL development environment, but we have been following
the recommended procedure for eliminating the bogus Time Machine errors on OS X.

Doing so involves starting idl and idlde one time with root privileges.

When we start idlde, we inevitably get this error message:

Workspace in use or cannot be created, choose a different one.

We have tried deleting any workspaces and .idl directory. When we start idlde
it creates a new workspace and a new .idl directory, but the error message
recurs and nothing will let us actually start idlde.

Any suggestions?
