This is basically how I draw bars in cgHistoplot. I've
never seen any kind of a problem in PostScript:

It turns out that the irregular spacing I noted came from ps2pdf and other graphics converter programs. I looked at the results in pdf and gif after the conversion. Even though the graph still does not look nice on ghostview, it is fine on print directly from the postscript file. Thank you for reminding me that I was doing the right thing.
